Version: 2.3
FACTS - The Finest Atomic Clock Time Syncroniser
------------------------------------------------
*** FIXED AUTODST BUG - PLEASE UPDATE TO THIS VERSION ***
*** See below for full details
A bit like "AtomTime", but on the Amiga...
This program will let you log on to any NTP server, and retrieve the current
time in order to syncronise your Amiga's clock with it.
FACTS2 supports all TCP/IP stacks which implement bsdsocket.library v4.
(eg. AmiTCP, Miami, TermiteTCP)
It does *not* use the virtual TCP: device.
Version 2 is designed to run in the background and adjust your system time
when requested by you or an ARexx script, although it can still run as a CLI
command in an identical way to v1.1
You do not need an Internet connection for this program to be useful!
FACTS2 has an "AutoDST" feature, which will automatically adjust your clock
and the TZ env-var to reflect the time shift.
In addition, any alterations to TZ will make FACTS adjust your system time
accordingly (can be disabled)
Changes since previous release:
* MAJOR BUG! When AutoDST was enabled, and you were in the month containing
the start of DST, DST would be enabled at the start of the month, and
disabled at the end.
* More server info (database)
* "Year 2000"-type compatibility modes
* Support for half-hour timezones
* Ability to check for a newer version of FACTS
* Disable the Tools menu "Set Time" item
* Changed the time display slightly
* Hopefully made the guide a little bit easier to find your way around
